In therapy, I take a holistic and evidence-based approach to help you better understand and address the challenges you’re facing. By combining psychodynamic and attachment-focused perspectives with Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) I aim to provide a well-rounded, individualized treatment plan that is rooted in both insight and practical tools.
From a psychodynamic lens, we explore how unconscious thoughts and early life experiences influence your current feelings and behaviors. This helps uncover deep-rooted patterns and emotional blocks that may be affecting your relationships and mental health. The attachment-focused approach delves into how your early attachment relationships shape the way you form bonds with others, particularly how you navigate emotional intimacy, trust, and connection.
I also incorporate Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), a structured, goal-oriented approach that helps you challenge unhelpful thinking patterns and behaviors. CBT offers practical techniques to address issues like anxiety, depression, and self-doubt, promoting healthier coping strategies and more positive thinking.
Incorporating Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) helps you understand and process your emotions, particularly in the context of relationships. EFT is a powerful tool for individuals, couples and families, fostering emotional connection and helping to resolve patterns of conflict that arise from unmet emotional needs.
For individuals, therapy typically lasts 50 minutes per session, once a week, until you feel that you have achieved your therapeutic goals. This may include gaining deeper self-awareness, overcoming emotional challenges, or making meaningful changes in how you relate to yourself and others.
For couples, therapy sessions are typically 80 minutes weekly, providing ample time to explore relational dynamics, improve communication, and address the emotional underpinnings of conflicts. This longer session length ensures that both partners have enough time to fully engage in the therapeutic process and work through any issues with guidance and support.
Together, my goal is to help create a compassionate, supportive space where you can explore your emotional world, build new skills, and make lasting changes to improve your mental health and relationships. Whether you’re an individual seeking personal growth or a couple navigating relational challenges, therapy can help you reach your goals and achieve lasting emotional well-being.
